So I've had a crazy credit year.
I had defaulted on my student loans in 08 and rehabbed them ending in April of 2015. In May of 2015 Navient Picked them up.
I went from getting my first credit card in my name in 10 years in June of 2015 to this approval today.
Here's the complete rebuild timeline:

Now I had wanted a Sapphire Preffered, but was locked out due to the 5/24 rule. My Amex Plat renewal is coming up on my next statement, and while I like the benefits, the sapphire reserve offers more, plus a 100k UR bonus for a 4k spend in 3 months. And combined with the Freedom, and the Ink Plus, I have an easier time accumulating UR points, add to that the fact that I live next to a United Hub, and it's my airline of choice, and well, Actually Getting this card was a no brainer for me. Now them GIVING me the card was pretty much a snowball's chance in Hell. There had been some anecdotal evidence on here that the Sapphire Reserve was not under the 5/24 restriction , but at this point I'm at 23/24 (Including this new acct). I thought my chances were slim to none but I figured i would throw the dice one more time before I went out into the garden. Now a disclaimer - Both my family and I have Pirvate Client Banking at Chase, and I have my business accounts at Chase, but until now they have seemed somewhat stingy with CL's. (5k on Slate PC'd to FU), 5.5k on Freedom, and 9K on United Mieage Explorer. Anyway I went on the chase site, applied online. and Expected a 7-10 day or 30 day message. EVERY one of my other chase approvals has been delayed - 7-10 days except the intial Slate approval, so needless to say my eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw this appear....
So now.... Off to the garden I go.... My portfolio is beyond complete.
Take care,
George
