Unexpected Target CLI

Received my second CLI from Target today. I opened the card with a $200 credit line in April of 2014. It was raised to $800 sometime around the end of last year, and I just received another increase to $1,000 this week. I am very glad to see the increase, and I must say I'm very surprised. I owe about $75,000 in credit card debt, and my TU score is sitting at 629. I have been using the Target card heavily for the past couple of months and paying it off in full, so I think this is what triggered the increase. It certainly had nothing to do with my credit rating. Anyway, I just thought I would share this info, as it seems Target increases are not necessarily credit-based decisions, at least in my case.

I think they added it a few months back. They probably got tired of us calling in to update our financial information. I am grateful for the 2K SL that I initially received. Then they showed me auto luv in December 2014 for $700. I'm hoping to get some auto luv this year too.
SN: I am annoyed with the whole CLI process with Target, but I love their store so I deal. Thanks for allowing me to rant! Exiting state left...

I was thinking the same haha, 75k in debt will make me sweat!!! a lot lol.  I make 65k/year  and I only spent 10 to 15% of my credit limit.  But Congratulations on your increase though.

Re: Unexpected Target CLI

Yep, $75k. I have been going through a rough financial patch because I'm living in an apartment I couldn't afford and have had some other expenses come up. The FICO score simulator says my TU score would go from 629 to 835 if I paid off all my cards over 2 years. That will be the day!
