Applications Before March (24 Month Period): 1 --> No HP from EX, EQ, or TU, strange as that is.
Accounts Opened Before March (24 Month Period): 1 --> The Above. Apple Card application approved Oct 2021
Recent Applications Since Start of March:
Failed:
Synchrony x 2 --> Identity Verification, No HP from EX, EQ, or TU incurred
BoA --> EX HP. Ended up being redundant due to WF approval, Identity Verification, Tax Returns requested
USBank --> EX HP. Identity Verification, Tax Returns requested
Successful:
WF --> Reflect TU HP.
My ED transferred a large amount of CL into BCE, but only the reduced CL in ED is reporting, so technically, my utilization is showing numbers (23%) worse than what it really should be. The proper CL in BCE won't be reported for another month. And with recent applications and one new account, my EX FICO8 was standing at 767. Oldest active account is about 7.25 years, and average age is about 5.5 years now after 1 new account opening.
Anyways, after the frustrating experience with USBank and having 2 EX HPs go completely to waste, I was not going to apply anymore for another year. After the WF Reflect which is a BT card, Altitude Connect was one of my 2 choices for my 2nd and last card; that ended up in utter misery. The other choice was Chase United Explorer, but I was hesistant until I got encouraged to apply again. There was that extra 10K miles SUB offered through Doctor of Credit, but I decided to go the safe route via Chase web portal, which showed me as having "already approved."
Result: Instant approval at 13.7K SL.
HP: Looks to be only EX; I am a SoCal resident.
Now back to the garden I go for another year. This card is mainly for the SUB and nothing else, but maybe my plans might change. In worst case scenario, I will take advantage of the Global Entry credit, use it for a little more than a year, then PC to the No-AF Gateway card. I may even donate some of the CL into the CSP, but who knows.
It is nice, finally NOT to run into recent frustrations with identity verification nonsense. Since I am out of the country, I had to hook up my home PC via AnyDesk client, so that I can access it from my laptop here. I am glad it worked. Chase has been very nice to me, as they approved me with a 16K CL right out of the gate when I applied for my first premium rewards card a few months after all my baddies were removed from my credit reports.
Congratulations on your New United Explorer Account Approval!
Congratulations on your approval!
congrats on the approval
Congratulations on your approval
