Hi all! I went on a mini spree last week (chase amazon, BOA, barclay all approved) so I figured ehh why not and try and grab the Venture.
Approved for 10k!! My highest limit yet! So I was wondering if I should close my secured card with them? Its my longest open card, I just closed my second longest card which was credit one (thank god). I just dont want it to hurt me. What does everyone think?
Currently for cap one:
QS: 150/4500
Secured: 0/502 (weird number I know)
Venture: 0/10,000
Thank you!!

Congrats on the approval...
GRATS!!!!
My DW has the same "issue".
She actually has the secured and QS1. Secured being her oldest. We/she decided that she will keep them open until the AF is about to hit, which is around Sept of this year. Then they are gone, replaced by the Venture she got for 10k and regular QS she got for 3k.
Just remember, as many have said on these forums, even closed they positively affect your credit for 10 years, so no worry about AAoA or anything like that.
Congrats on your approval
Thank you everyone!!

I was in the same boat -- there was no point keeping a toy CL secured card after they both bumped my QS1 CL to $4300 and approved me for the Venture. They wouldn't PC or CLI, so I told them thanks for giving me a jumpstart on my rebuilding efforts, but it was time to chuck the $301 [I know, I had a funky limit, too!] secured card and pursue bigger and better. Like another poster said, it will still sit on your CR for 10 years, so AAoA shouldn't be affected by the closure.
Congrats on the approval!
