Venture Pre-Approval - Should I pull the trigger?

About a month and a half ago, I applied for the Venture.  I got no pre-approval, and was denied when applied.  I got a little too excited after paying off some cards, but the payoffs had ot hit my credit reports.  (Brain fart!) This weekend, my scores went up to what you see in my profile, and just for S and giggles, I tried the pre-qualified link...BOOM!  Pre-qualified for everything.  Venture, Venture One and Quicksilver.  I currently have a Capital One Platinum (old HSBC) and Quicksilver One.  I'm trying to figure out will this be a real approval with a decent CL? Is Venture's minimum $5k?  I was turned down a couple of months ago due to "inexpereince with a line of credit this size" Even tried EO...and it was a no go.

I recently obtained a AMEX BCE and Chase Freedom - but with only a $1000 CL on each, with denied reconsideration on both for a higher CL.  I just don't want to go through the trouble of applying and obtaining a puny CL.  So, any thoughts on if I shouldgo for it or not?  BTW, I have two store cards with 3500 and 4000 CLs now, so that may have made a difference.

I read here somewhere there was a 90 day wait between apps after a rejection.    Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Good luck to you if you apply.

Re: Venture Pre-Approval - Should I pull the trigger?

I guess I need to be moved to Approvals - $10,000!   Thanks for the encouragement.  Man, now if I had only been more patient, I would probably had a higher starting CL with my AMEX and Freedom cards!   Smiley Tongue  Thanks for the encouragement.  Two goal cards down, two to go (Sam's Club MC and Sallie Mae)  But I know Barclay's is app sensitive so I'm gardening for six months.
