Re: Venture X approval

It's primary coverage. You can view the benefits guide for the Visa Infinite card on Cap One's website.

Re: Venture X approval

Congratulations! Did you think your old Venture was "overpriced"? This Venture X is interesting. I'd wonder how well C1 travel portal is...

Primary! Which is something even my Platinum doesn't have.

@greatscott85

I did think the old Venture was overpriced and I hated to just rent a credit line.  Since I already had the Amex Platinum, it offered no real value (and no domestic travel partners).  Capital One knows how to do simplicity right, though, and I have missed that. I'm grateful for Amex for being my gateway credit.  They gave me a shot when I had a thin file.  I am so, so tired of all the hard to use credits.  And I am very displeased by the fee increase which is supposed to be offset by the new hard to use credits.  They are impossible to use credits in rural northern Arizona.    I think the Venture X really checks all the boxes for me.

Re: Venture X approval

I really did not expect to be approved for this card.  I was denied the Savor this summer for too many new accounts (I'm now 8/24).

Until I got approved, I was just planning to renew my Plat for one more year since it is still $550.  When I did get approved, I got on the chat and asked to product change to Green (hate to lose an old tradeline/can afford the annual fee and I can't use the credits for the Gold).  Of course they offered me a retention offer so I accepted thinking $550 for another year plus 40k more MRs.

Duh.  I can't meet $13k credit spend in 6 months for both bonuses.  10k is barely doable but is doable.  I'm thinking go back to my original plan to downgrade to Green since I really feel the Venture X is a great fit for me.  Thoughts?
