Well it is a well known fact I can't garden and really have no intention to ever try.  I applied for the Virgin America last night and got approved for the Visa Signature Version being the black card ($49) AF version of the card.  Instant Approval..  Had the SCT, but just did the regular application.  I was expecting a higher approval amount, but it will work.  Did this for a few reasons.  I am dumping my JCREW this month and wanted something to fill the void for utilization, etc..  I won't have any store cards anymore unless you include CareCredit, but I find CareCredit to be an awesome card due to 0% stuff.

So far it appears to be a SP, as I see I was hit on Experian yesterday with a SP from them..  Maybe EQ is lagging behind, will find out and update.  Expecting a HP and hoping for a SP.

So with that said.  I got the Mid Tier being Tier 2 Visa Signature version at $5500.

UPDATE: Did get hit with an EQ HP!  Just so I don't misguide people!

CC, how many of the other accounts in the last 12 months were Comenity, prior to this one? Thanks

Just the Total Rewards...  The JCREW was about 13 months ago?  I also got the sportman guide mailer/pre-approval in the mail yesterday..  I just can't see taking a HP for that card for myself as I just don't shop at that store and can't personally for myself see any value that card adds unless I want to get to X credit line, but I don't want to do that as I have other plans for my credit and want to leave alot of available credit open for future applications without being being under the microscope to much.  I am at around 120k total credit still under my yearly gross salary.  Although when I cancel the JCREW card it will be closer to 110kish in my personal avaialble credit.  Still have plans to apply for the Ritz this year if the 140k offer comes back around.

CC. This is exception. The sportsman is the only Visa left that is soft pull via the sct. the rest are hp. but not this one. there is no doubt either.

It does seem to vary for Sportsman's Guide Visa - mine was HP through SCT, and CAPTOOL and a few others have reported that SCT for their Sportsman's Guide Visa was HP also. It has gone both ways, HP and SP. Best to be prepared either way, but certainly a really nice surprise if you don't get the HP. Not sure about others.

The only thing we can definitively determine abut Comenity is that there seems to be no real rhyme or reason for things Smiley Happy

 Re: Sportsman's Guide Via SCT

Great starting limit, way more than they gave me - and mine was a hard pull!

Ya it probably could go either way..  Probably would get a 5k-7k CL  with it, just not worth the AAoA hit and I don't need to buffer to be honest as I want to stay under my income / salary for now.  The 24.99 or whatever it is doesn't sound appetizing to me either although I would never carry a balance on that card, just the principle of it.  It suits certain people and I respect that, just not for me personally or at least this point with a whole $200 reporting in CC debt and 120k available.

@Taxi.. Thanks.

I just don't like bumping up with to much available credit as I truely believe it will hinder future approvals whether instant or manual review by UW's..  This card is over a year old being the JCREW so don't mind dumping it.  It isn't doing harm currently, but I really don't need the padding as I carry 200$ balance on CC at any given time for the time being.  I know I can grow this card into a beast, but really think it will harm me more than help me in the long run.. Thus will cut it free when my other CL's report unless someone can sell me on keeping it.

Sorry Taxi.  Despite what others think, the SG is not the only Comenity Visa card that can be received thru an SP.. I was approved for the Virgin America card two weeks ago and I did not get an HP.  We have to be careful with absolutes.  They seldom are the case all the time.
