Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa Approved

A bit of history. I am retired with verifiable annual investment income of $130,000. I have liquid assets at Fidelity of 3MM. I live in a relatives home rent free. I have a FICA Score of 810.

Today, I went into the Well Fargo branch and the banker completed the application for Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa. The good news is that I was approved immediately for the Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa. I expect to receive the card in about a week. The less good news is that my credit limit is only $2,000. I thought that they were joking.

With my CapitalOne Visa ($5,000 limit) and Costco Citi Visa ($12,000) my utilization was running between 9% - 11%. While this additional $2,000 will keep me under 9%, I was expecting a higher credit limit. Is there someone at Well Fargo to call to discuss this credit limit? How can I start to increase my credit limit with my Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa?

Based on research from this forum. you might try calling and asking for a limit increase request when your card arrives and is activated. Wells Fargo normally does a soft inquiry but if the request needs further reconsideration from an analyst, they may request a hard inquiry.. but will ask your permission first and give you the option to decline.
