Yet another Capital One EO success story

First off, I want to say hello, and more importantly, thank you so much for all of the wonderful advice on this forum. I am on my lunch break so I can't give a lot of detail, but I was so excited, I wanted to say thank you for all of the stories and general advice.

I did as instructed here, I went to google and looked for the Capital One Executive office, and it gave me the email of the President or CEO. I sent a kind email outlining my desires in general terms, my reasoning for them, and a small bit about my personal situation. I did this on Sunday. Today I received a phone call from a really nice lady who asked me what I wanted and walked me through getting it. Currently my one card is a platinum unsecured with a limit of 850. (I recently got a $100 increase from the button you can press to try and get one on the website.) I asked her for $2500 and she said she'll let me know in 3-5 days due to the holiday and that she'll be out of the office after a certain time tomorrow.
(maybe I should have tried to ask for a little more)

What she could do right then was upgrade my account to the Quicksilver!

She couldn't do any thing for my interest rate, but she is researching to see if she can at least try to get the one on my unsecured account lowered. She also refunded my annual fees on both accounts. I couldn't be happier or more excited than I am at this moment.. at least until I find out the results of my credit limit request.

Thank you again, so very much. This is an amazing forum to lurk on!

Oh, and I forgot, the disclosure she read to me was very clear that all of this was done via a soft pull!

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

Thats Great... Congrats on the product change to quicksilver and your refunds on the annual fees. And about the increase it took them another day and i saw it on my account before they even called back to say what they gave me for the increase. So you might get lucky and they have it on there for you tomorrow before thanksgiving.. Nice work ...

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

Thank you so much! I would have never gotten any of those if I hadn't found this forum! The EO method got me a lot farther than any thing else would have.  I would have just eventually called, but I know they're notorious for being stingy and saying no on the phone, and coupled with their stinginess and easy way of saying no on the website, I wouldn't have persued it very far and accepted it til my credit  got to a point where I didn't need them any more. Now I feel like I have some tools to make my credit work for me instead of just me working hard for the credit.

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

Wow - I emailed them last night, and this morning I got a call back already! I verified some information, and he said he would put the request in to the underwriters.

He said I should hear back from him likely tomorrow.

Wow - they're fast!

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

Well, I got a call back again from the EO. They can't do a thing about my interest rates at all right now, and they're sending me a letter for income verification. :-( So I guess I'll have to wait for that to come in before I can see what happens.

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

Don't fret, they refused my 2003 500 limit card be upgraded. No compromise nothing!  Congrats though for getting them to do something!

Re: Yet another Capital One EO success story

I am happy that they did do what they did for me. I'm just disappointed that I couldn't get the increase as well and see what it is right away. I am assuming that they are planning to give me one or they wouldn't ask for income verification, so I can't really complain too much.
