I decided to app for the capital one platinum mastercard and I was approved instantly. However, I'm very disappointed with the $300 credit limit. $300??? I mean they do say my credit line will increase after the first 5 payments are made on time. I have 5 other cards with limits of $1k+ and even the AMEX Green charge card and I do not understand the small limit at all.
So my questions are:
1. Why is my limit so small?
2. Can my CL still increase if I dont charge anything on the card for the first 5 payments? Like say if I carry a zero balance will my CL increase? I wouldnt plan on using a card with $300
3. Rant over
thanks for reading.

Actually, I wanted to add something to it.. it was originally HSBC account with $300 limit then Cap1 took over ever since.. been growing slowly.
Can't say.....don't know anything about your credit profile. That is a pretty standard limit for people getting their foot in the door, especially those rebuilding or with limited age on accounts.
