Hi all,
I applied for the Citi Simplicity card earlier this week and was just approved today with a $5,500 SL. I was hoping to BT as much as possible to take advantage of the 0% APR (I am most concerned with a $12K balance I have at 22% APR on a Chase card). Do I have any chance of a credit limit increase if I call them and explain this? If so, what number do I call?
I am not a new customer to Citi. I have had the Citi Diamond Preferred card for about 3 years with a CL that slowly increased to $7,000. I have a balance just under $3K on this card at 7.99% APR. This is the only other card with a balance (after the Chase card mentioned above). I also have their Best Buy Visa (for about 5 years) and have never carried a balance after the initial 24 month period.
My FICO score was 735 at the time of application, income is $155K, and I have $15K in combined credit card balances on about $55K combined limits. This is the only credit card I have applied for in the last 2.5 years (but I did finance a car 1.5 years ago and have taken out 2 student loans per year totalling about $75K).
I am brand new to this forum , so I really appreicate any responses! I just finished grad school and I'm trying to pay off debt as quickly as possible!
Hi & Welcome To myFICO Forums
Congrats, try The Limit increase when you log in, should be a soft pull.
if you get the hard pull verbage, then I would probably back out.
some can get soft pull CLI's on a New card Right Away (I did) others can't.
probably a 50/50 chance at getting one. GL2U
