0% Interest Help.

Hi Ive been lurking a few half a year or so but this is my 1st post.

Im currently rebuilding from avg of 615 ish scores and now up to 720 or so. Thanks to you guys here.

My question is Ive recently app'd and recieved

AMEX ED 1k CL

FNBO amex 1k CL( says NPSL)

Both have 0% for 12-15 months. I bought a 07 yukon thats from the south so its nice and clean and needs a little body work around $1500 worth or so . Would like to get it done before my Minnesota  winter so the salt doesnt destroy my new truck.

How much can I safely charge without looking bad. My idea is to put around $750 on each card in NOV. Pay around $250 on each in NOV so they would end with $500 each. Then make $250 per card for the months of DEC and JAN.

Finally making sure they are at 0 balance in FEB after some misc charges from purcahses in the coming months

Hope this makes sense , Thanks for the insight.

that would be completely fine.

Dont' forget about asking for CLI on amex after 2 months... I would wait until your 2nd payment of $250 clears and then ask for $3k cli

Re: 0% Interest Help.

They give you the credit to use, so I see no problem. Though Amex not grant the 3x cli on the first go around if you carry that large of a balance. As long as you payoff the cards sooner than later you should have no problem. Congrats on the new vehicle as well!

Re: 0% Interest Help.

I figured it would be alright just got kind of nervious reading about accounts being closed. That was mostly people using 85-90% of the limit and only paying min.

Thanks alot for the help, I'm very excited about AMEX+yukon they are big life upgrades for me.

P.S. One last thing I just thought of. The FNBO Amex has NPSL , Do I dare call this early and ask to charge the $1500?

If they let you charge the $1500, then your min. payment on $1k would be due plus the entire amount over your CL (being $500) in this case)

id split it just so you can get the charging history on both cards... might consider paying more heavily on amex though so it's under $300 when you hit your 61 day cli.
