Re: I paid down all my balances and had a 55 point jump in 30...

Hello and congrats!

It is all about just gathering the knowledge and applying it!  As previously posted, just paying off high balances on credit cards can vastly increase your FICO scores.

You would be surprised on how many people think that if they carry large balances on their cards that they are showing the credit companies that they can manage their money, but when in fact, they are scaring all of their creditors with the crazy utilization!

Low utilization, on time payments and only apply for credit that you NEED are the keys to success!

Re: 15 point Fico jump

In my recent experience, Equifax will ding you quite a bit for the new credit line. TU was a minor negative impact. Experian seems to like new credit as I too saw a nice increase with a new credit line.
Watch out for EQ!!

Re: 15 point Fico jump

Checked True Credit today and AMEX was reporting on Transuion and Equifax. Transunion stayed the same which is 694 and I don't know how it affected my Equifax but I think your right about me taking a ding. On true credit it showed my equifax went down by 6 points but I don't trust those fakos. They said my experian went down when it actually went up on fico. This credit score stuff is a big mess.

I checked my Truecredit report today and noticed my AMEX account was added to experian report only. Couldn't help but check my fico score and had a 15 point boost. My experian score went from 673 to 688. I hope it has the same impact on equifax and transuion. I've learned so much from these forums, my boyfriend thinks I'm obsessed with credit but I had horrible credit when I was younger and I've learned from my mistakes. It feels good to be on the road to recovery!

Congratulations!!!

Re: 15 point Fico jump

Couldn't help but check Equifax Fico to see how much of a hit I took and my score actually went up by 3 points, from 590 to 593. I still have a long way to go with Equifax. I'm sure my scores will take a dive when my Wamu account hits.
