2nd AMEX card eyeballed but which will get approved

Been eyeing a 2nd Amex card, but have been handed the boot for HIlton, Starwood, Blue, Plenti, blue cash, everyday and 2nd Delta since August.

Every decline has been due to FICo scoring. Now I have to admit that I had no business applying as my EX score dropped from 667 to 645 due to recent app spree.

My last app spree was May where I picked up Venture, Discover, Amazon, Banana republic, Shell and Keybank, plus several Commentiy SCT accounts.

My Ex score jumped back up to 672 and my utilization dropped to 23.5%. My November app spree still has $2,400 yet to report. The additional reportings will bring my utilization down to around 20%.

So I am lurking around the boards and trying to decide which card to go for before Jan 1st (hoping to get the backdating going into 2016).

I have had my delta card since Feb 2015 (currently carry a zero balance) and finally got Amex to report to Experian. Took 3 phone calls and a letter to get it to report.

Have not had the luxury of getting any CLI out of Amex yet. I try 2-3 times a month.

Should I try for another Delta account? My first Delta was $1K with a 673 Ex fico.

Any advise on the next recommended card.

I'd do nothing, they are giving you signs left and right that you don't need anymore at this time.

I am sure you are right. All the declines have been due to fico scoring.

The next declines might include high balnce to credit limit assigned, utilization, internal scoring is too low, too many inquiries, too any new accounts.

Just processing opinions with postings about amex. I know each credit profile is different.

How can others get the hilton and starwood with 640 scores? Maybe a super thin file and amex sees an opportunity to extend the less risk thin file customers.

Re: Looking for 2nd Amex card but which one?

Good luck, buddy.  Your question may do better over in the Credit Card forum.  This board is more for people trying to understand how the different FICO models work.

just curious...why are you applying for so many new cards? are you planning to use all of them or have some other goal in mind?

Re: Looking for 2nd Amex card but which one?

If you wanted another Amex and had been declined b4 due to fico why would you do another spree b4 apping? just curious..
I would wait to get that util. down also..maybe when those new ones report see how that helps the score...
the Cli's come from SP they get periodically so if they going by one say Nov.1st and you don't get cli, then you see haven't did one since then well that will be the same one they use when you ask this week for cli...I would suggest wait on lower util. to hit reports, new Sp get done then make request...
Since your first Delta was a 1k approval there is lots of info on forum about this & Amex cards period, sounds like it was getting in the door so just give it some time..

What backdating are you referring to?
What are scores like now?

Best of luck on your credit Journey !!!!!!

I should hope so, because business cards are not considered by your FICO, lol.
