Capitalone was the first to give me a 5k credit limit on a VentureOne. After that, all of my cards have been at least 5k. Chase seems to be really nice on approving with a minimum 5k credit line on their signature cards.
I see a toy limit as a card in the $200 range, something a bank would give a new rebuilder or a Sync would give for a store card. Not enough to purchase anything significant (or do any real damage...)
$5,000 is a big chunk of change, and your first $5,000 card is a huge milestone. However once you start getting bigger starting limits, anything less is slightly disappointing (my Chase AARP) ![]()
I feel ya Happy. I'm now at the point where 60% of my cards are $10k+. And my goal is to get them all over $10k. I never really felt the $5k milestone cause Navy Fed took me from $3k to $10k. ![]()
