My sixth statement will be generating today or tomorrow. I have read of people getting the auto cli with Cap 1 at six months. My question is has anyone that had a Household Plat that cap 1 took over, approach their 6 months and received an auto? I know I should not hold my breath. I definitely will not be calling for a CLI..LOL
Its only a $300 limit. I see cap one has been doing soft pulls on me the last two months. I usually charge up to about 200 on it and pay it down to 30 bucks before the statement cuts. I usually do this twice a month because the limit is so small.
Am I getting my hopes up..AGAIN?
Not to be unkind, but your signature includes a Chase Freedom with a 3k limit...
Sock drawer that HSBC/Cap1 card until they close it or charge you an annual fee, then YOU close it...
Yes, trying to predict HSBC or Cap1 CLI's would count as getting your hopes up...for nothing...
Assuming that this card is now being handled in the same way as other Cap1 accounts, I wouldn't expect any auto CLIs, it is very unlikely. And in terms of requesting a CLI that's even more of a longshot.
I requested a cli for hsbc orchard bank account yesterday and got a small $100 increase which i am thinking is better then nothing. I did not see any hard hit on my reports after the request so i am assuming it was a soft pull..hope this helps..

I will NEVER request a cli with them again. I am still trying to get rid of two extra pulls from when they said it would be a soft pull. Have 3 on transunion over this card. Was still hoping they would do an automatic cli though.
I never requested a CLI on my HSBC/Cap1 card until it was at 13mths and perfect history. PIF. They declined me then 2 weeks later charged the AF of $39. It's also a $300 card. I'm thinking about just closing it.
when i requested the cli yesterday the account was only 9 months old but i figured i would try. My line was 300 when i requested and they gave me 100 so it boosted me to 400. the guy told me i could ask again for anothe rincrease in 5 or 6 months. I have about 140 on the card i am looking to pay off before i ask again by december.

I would close it, unless you don't have at least 2 other cards or you need the $300 CL for utilization purposes.

I think i am going to close it. I have the Cap1 Plat card zero balance, and the AMEX Zync $500 w/autopay. I also just recently became AU on a Citi World card 0/11,400 and AMEX Blue Cash 0/33,300. I'm not worried about util b/c i always PIF anyway. All these cards are PIF and have NO baddies. So i think i'm gonna close the HSBC/Cap1 card and just garden for a bit. I don't need the $300 limit, and its only ~14.5 mths old.
Thanks,
John

Good call ~ It will stay on your credit reports for 10 years from the date closed, and you save the AF.
