6 months with Discover

Hey guys tomorrow will be my 6th statement with my Discover card, what is everyones experience with getting a CLI? Also for those of you who got an auto CLI how long did it take after your statement closed before you got the CLI?

I'm assuming if you click the button online it will be a HP? what about when you call in? I really don't want another hard pull before my 3X increase with AMEX on March 5th so I might wait until after that to request it.

Discover will let you know if its a hard pull before proceeding. My sixth statement cut earlier this month and they did a SP on me two days prior. No auto CLI for me. Of course, I hit the luv button. It immediately said no CLI for you and to call for further assistance. It did not even pull my CB. I know because I just checked my reports yesterday.

I contacted Customer Service and the rep told me its 6 months from account opening. Which will be towards the EOM for me.

Almost 8 months and no auto cli. Ive pressed the online option 3 times and always get error.

I've had a Discover card for close to 20 years, and I still can't tell you what their pattern is for granting auto CLIs. They do evaluate every account at six month intervals. But only once did they ever give me two auto-CLIs in one year -- and that was after the credit crunch when they had given NO CLIs for the previous several years.

I've never asked for a CLI. Just waited for what they decided to give. But other than usually getting an auto-CLI on my anniversary (and sometimes a pretty generous one), I can't even begin to discern the method behind their choices.

Oh, and the auto-CLIs usually come at least a week or so after a statement close, at least for me.

Then watch; the month after they give an auto-CLI they almost invariably fail to report to the bureaus -- though they otherwise report like clockwork and they will report if you remind them or ask them to.

Fingers crossed for you, I have had no such luck with Discover for a CLI and had the hard now for a year.

I have the More card. Got it late October. They auto cli after my January statement cut. I went from $5500 to $7200. So I guess they are a YMMV creditor. And I was at 43% util. with them but at 35% util overall.

I had the card since August and did not get an auto CLI so its different for everyone i guess.

I've had my Discover for 2 years and never got an auto CLI until getting 2 over the past 6 months. For a CLI request, if you do it through the automated phone system it will be a SP, if the automated system transfers you to a person, it can still be a SP, they may just need more info (just be sure to tell them to stop the process if it's going to result in a HP).
