674 FICO. Want to get first card.

I've never had a credit card and want to increse my 674 score. My only credit history is my student loan. So, I'm wondering what the best cards I would have a good chance of getting approved for are.

Anything negative on your report?

Where did you get your credit score? Is that FAKO or FICO?

What is your income level?

No auto loan?

The student loan is Federal and does report. My payment history is perfect and I have no other debt or credit history. I bought the score through my Equifax annual report.

Also, do you belong to a cu? Are your loans deferred?

I'm not part of a credit union and my loan is not deferred. I currently only have 1,400 left to repay.

Cap1....you can go to their website and see if you are pre-approved.

Well, I didn't finish, so it never amounted to very much.

You can try for Cap1's Platinum MC or their secured card. Your approval chances are better if you go the secured route. And then, you can garden the secured card for 6 months and then try for Platinum or Cash Rewards card (for average credit).
