Sorry, that's almost always no go on Amex CLIs.  Hate to be the bearer of bad news.  If it's approved it's almost always instant.

Refresh us, please: which card, when opened, what's your util, what's your CL, do you have anything funky going on with your other accounts.

edit to add: oh, well, deferring to cheddar on this one!

Blue, formerly delta, 8.3k CL, util is at 34% (I left home with it for a trip), no other funky stuff on my reports, my scores are up from when I got the card. Opened in Nov of last year.

Re: 7-10 day message on amex cli?

I'm guessing that you're not in trouble per se, and you only opened it last November. So six months will be May --give it the end of May or early June, with it paid off, and give it another whack.

I think they're pretty serious about the 6-month thing.

Re: 7-10 day message on amex cli?

Yea, it was opened six months ago today. This is my first try at a CLI and people keep saying 60 days after opening and then 6 months. So I figured give it six months and roll the dice. I don't really need it, but with my scores up and other CLI's going around I figured why not! Oh well you live and you learn.

LOL!  Sorry if that came across as a little blunt.  I did say "sorry." Smiley Tongue  Diplomacy is not always my strongest point.

You know, it seems they have been getting stricter by the moment with those CLI rules.  Just 7 or 8 months ago it was never a problem to get a CLI at activation with them.  Then they changed it to the 30-day rule for new accounts.  Then that became 60 days.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if they changed it to 6 months or something even on new accounts, and you're just not quite there yet.

I have no idea if that's the case, but I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it turned out to be that they've extended the waiting period yet again.
