They are not open on Sat-Sun, call them Mon-Fri.
Best of Luck!
EDIT: They may be open Saturdays, I can't remember, I know the "New Accounts Dept" is not open Sundays tho.
High credit score does not mean 100% approval rate. In fact AMEX uses their own scoring model, even though they provide you your FICO score.
I imagine your AAoA is low, considering you recently opened five cards.
I was declined an AmEx Clear about 2 months ago with an EX Fico of 780, AAoA 6 yrs, 3 inq's 1% util.
Reson was "Acct too new"
3/11 I apped for the Blue Cash and was instant approved 2000CL now 6000CL (this was the reason for decline, they wanted to see more history with this acct first)
5/11 I apped for the PR Gold and was instant approved, both cards have been backdated to 91, the PR Gold actually just reported on EQ and EX, bumped my EQ Fico from 774 to 783 (9 points up) I will check my TU Fico sometime this week (TU seems to be the slowest to report, at least in my case) my Tu is 790 now, if my TU does the same I'm looking at a 799, but I'm hoping for at least an 800 LOL!!!!
Anyway, sorry about that, I got off track a bit (or a lot) lol, I actually intended to say, even with a very high EX fico (760 and above) you (I) can be declined, IMO your EX Fico in AmEx's eyes is just a number (they have their own internal scoring model) and its a crapshoot as to weather you will score good with them or not, so don't be suprised at a decline with a EX 732 Fico, AmEx is a strange beast, but once you are in with them, you're golden.
I'd call for a recon, but if you have 5 recent inq's and 5 brand new TL's listing on your CR's, AmEx might be a tough catch for you right now, they may wan't to wait to see some history before they'll extend you credit. If they don't approve this after recon, I'd suggest apping for one of their Charge Cards, I believe they are easier to obtain than an AmEx revolver (wait at least 30 days after the recon is completed, if they do one) then app for a Charge Card if you're really after an AmEx Card.
I personally would wait more like 6 months before trying with AmEx again, thats just my opinion.
Wishing you the Best of Luck!
Citi will reject you just as fast as AMEX. I speak from personal experience and my scores were a lot higher.
