99/500 up for review. What should I do??

I just talked with a CSR and ws told my account is marked to be reviewed to unsecure in two weeks.  I currently have a balance of $134 which was charged after the statement cut.

Should I pay this or leave it alone?

I've PIF'd a couple of times.  I always pay more than the minimum and payments were general made as soon as I noticed the statement cut.

TIA.

Hi lawskool

If you can pay it off, then why wait, do it now. you have to pay it anyway.

I do also think they will look at your history and will approve you.

Hope this helps and keep us updated

I got mine in March of 2008.

I was asking about paying because I JUST paid my bill at the end of Jan for Feb.  If you think it will help, I'll certainly do so.

Thanks for the replies.

I was in the same position when mine went unsecured. I knew it was coming, so from month #7 on I kept the balance at $0 and would use only a little and PIF. When it unsecured, I did not get a CLI. However, my overall util was a wee bit toooo high then (60% plus). Now I haven't bothered to call them, but I did request a CLI online after I received the check from them and was denied.

Good to know.  My util is around 24%.  I just want the darn thing to unsecure, but I do hope for a CLI.  I need some way to lessen the pain of the $900 CLD from Amex.  So far, it hasn't hurt..

Re: 99/500 up for review. What should I do??

Just a reminder to Lawskool and llecs

You should do a product change after you get the card unsecured. Many people have discussed never receiving a cli on their card. Once they did a product change to another card, they were able to get frequent cli's and a nice higher limit.

llecs, since yours has already unsecured, you should definitely try this.

Keep us updated

I'd agree with you, but the 99/500, now unsecured , card I have isn't offered via their website and is a monthly cash-back CC w/ 0% APR (for the first yr).
