A PenFed question

I have 7 accounts one power cash PenFed from 8 months and the promise 18 months old Can I combine the promise limit to the power cash ? If Yes will have a effect on my age ? Since it’s a older card

You can transfer limits but it will be a HP to do so.  As forit affecting your ag.  Nah, you'll still be the same age unless something very weird occurs Smiley Tongue

 

As for your AAoA (Average AgeofAccounts), not it won't affect that either as the Promise will continue to show and age on your credit report, evne if it is closed.

I didn’t get a HP a few months back when I moved some of mr promise CL to my Platinum Rewards...it did take them 3 weeks to do it though

No HP for me when I moved limits. I moved most of my CL from my PLOC to my Platinum. Mine also did not take 3 weeks, was done over a phone call. I called, CSR then called to underwriting and then passed on the news that it had been finished.

I think it depends upon which CSR you use.  I have successfully shifted limits between PenFed cards in the past (from Master Card to Promise) with no credit checks, but my most recent reallocation (from Promise to Power Cash) did get a hard pull.  When I called the 800 number, the very helpful CSR told me that I had screwed up by trying to do the reallocation in person at a local branch.  He explained that the branch CSRs don't have the same level of experience with credit cards as do the CSRs at the call center.  Unfortunately, however, he was unable to reverese the hard pull that had already taken place.
