AMEX AU Backdate Question...

So I added my Wife as an AU on my Zync card and I've been a member since 1995.  We received her card today and it is showing 2011 in front and not 1995?  Should we call CS to have it change to 1995 or it really don't matter just as long it reports 1995 on her CR?  Will it shows my history from 1995 to her CR even her card shows 2011? All I want is she gets the history of my account and not 2011.

Appreciate the help

Re: AMEX AU Backdate Question...

It should show on her report as 1995 and have all of your history.  The dates stamped on the front of the card often have nothing to do with the reporting and are just a result of them bulk ordering a bunch of cards.

I've heard of instances where the primary member gets a card that isn't properly backdated, and they do have to call in to get it corrected so that it reports correctly.  But I wouldn't think that would apply to an AU account.  Since the account is necessarily linked to your account and yours is reporting correctly, I would supsect that everything is ok and the date is just incorrect on the physial card.

Re: AMEX AU Backdate Question...

Thanks for your reply.  That's what I was thinking that the date on the card really don't matter.  Now the waiting begins, hope she can get all my history since it will really help her score.

Thanks again

Re: AMEX AU Backdate Question...

I am AU on my Fathers AmEx from 1984 and my card shows "Member Since 11" but shows opened in 84 on my reports.

As soon as I get my next AmEx card (backdated to 91) I will be closing my Fathers card, so everything that is on my report is all my own, I just needed a jump start when rebuilding thats why I asked him to add me as AU.

Best of Luck!

I build  my credit on my own.  None of my accounts are accounts where I'm an AU. Great to see that you're wanting to acheive the same.
