$2000 was my starting limit too.  I'm at $5000 now and that's probably because I short change myself when asking for CLIs. I'm asking for $7000  next month after my 3rd statement  cut since the last CLI.

Re: AMEX CASH BLUE

$2400 CL starting out.  I just asked for my first CLI last week, even though I've had it since 2007, and got bumped to $7k.

Re: AMEX CASH BLUE

I've had my Blue Cash since Q1 2008 at a $2000 CL.

At the time, it wasn't great, but it was reasonable.  I've never asked for a CLI, and they don't seem inclined to give me an auto CLI like some, so my other cards limits have left AMEX in the dust.  Perhaps it's time to call in and ask for a CLI.  After all, it is only a soft pull.

I feel it is rare Amex auto CLI. you can request every 6 months for 3x your current CL. If you have much higher limits with other cards I would go online and request to go to 6k.

Re: AMEX CASH BLUE

I had a Gold for a month when I got my Costco TE in June 2008. They gave me $2,000 to start. Went to $5,000 in November 2009. Now at $10,000 as of December 2010.

Re: AMEX CASH BLUE

I applied for AMEX Blue Cash last week. I did not get a 60-second approval online, but checked their application approval site about an hour later and saw that I had been approved. My initial CL is $7,400. They pulled Experian only. My PLUS Score is 752.

I had an AMEX Optima card for a few years in the late 90s and my credit history runs about 18 years. My existing card usage is around 35%, but no negatives.

Enjoy your new BLUE!

I think I will.  Most of my other accounts are above $6000, so I wish I could ask for more.  Maybe I should have been more adamant about requesting regular CLIs like many on this board, but it wasn't ever important to me, because I didn't need it.  At this point, it's just a matter of pride and protection of my util % if I ever have to carry a balance on one of my cards.
