Hi Guys,
I really need some help, I have an AMEX BCE that is 13 months old and my BCP that is 4 months old so here are my questions.
1- Can i combine my BCP into my BCE?, means transfer my $5500 (Total CLI is $6000) into my BCE?
2- My 3xCLI will be next January and the plan is to do it on my BCE, can i still do my 3xCLI after combine both cards?
I like better my BCP because the reward and my annual fee is just $75 (normally is $95), i really like it better than the BCE because my spending but the plan, well the plan is to free up a spot for my next AMEX application (Platinum Delta SkyMiles 70K bonus miles and Platinum Card 100K bonus points) which i thing is coming lol.
Thank you guys for all your help on this.

Hey and happy holidays!
Why are you worrying about freeing up spots? You have 2 amex revolvers, adding the delta plat would put you at 3, and the platinum card isa charge card and does not count. Unless you arent listing another amex you have.
What are your 3 scores, rough # of inqs, number of major ccs opened in last 24 months. If you are 680+ you should be pursuing chase sign on bonuses first. Just IMO.
As far as your AF being 75, that is fine, but to my knowledge it will increase eventually. http://millionmilesecrets.com/2016/06/12/annual-fee-increasing-for-existing-amex-blue-cash-preferred-cardholders/
You should look at the link in my sig by the almighty TheManWhoCan. You can see even with the Old blue cash no AF card (1pct on first 5k, then 5% on up to 50k of specific categories) your max return is like 4.75% and thats with like 40k of spending. And your BCP is really only 4.25% once you get the higher AF IIRC.
What were the terms of your two cards? The BCE 0% for how many months then what APR? What signon bonus did you get? Ditto on the BCP
Your BCE is 13 months old, you could upgrade it to the BCP if you wanted (at $95) keeping the older card alive if you didnt have many cards, and totally reallocate the limit from the BCP to the older BCE turned BCP. But you would lose your 0% period if you closed your 4 month newish BCP.
I am just a little confused by your wording on which card you ultimately wanted to keep. Just do the math remember the AF will probably go up, and yes you are certainly fine to combine as one card is 13 statements old and the other is at least 30.
I have no idea if combining limits does anything with the amex CLI timer. My gut says yes but I dont know.
The reason I asked some of the extra questions was, if say the APR on on card was better than the other, that might have some influence. You could just move the BCE to the BCP (downgrade if your spending doesnt make sense to keep it) But hopefully the BCP you keep and after its 0% ends its at a nice rate like 13.24%. Start asking for APR reductions on your BCE
Dont you think since you are planning to add all these amex cards, it would be slightly unwise to basically close a 4 month old card, which i assume had a sweet sign on bonus of 300-600$?
Just consider every option before you decide. If over 5/24 get the delta gold first, check often for prequals online that triggers more mailers for folks sometimes.

Actually initial spend for OBC is $6.5k

Can you have two BCPs by upgrading? I know with other issuers this happens but I haven't heard of this on this card.
As of mid-2015 (not sure if it's still the case), the rule was the recipient card had to be open for 2 months, and and donor card for 13 months. I am also confused as to which is which in your plan.
A $75 BCP AF will increase to $95 within maybe 3 years.
Hi guys,
Thanks for your reply, the problem is that i have 5 AMEX cards already SPG, HHS, HH, BCE and BCP, i can make room for the platinum delta combining the BCE and the BCP, i really don't care about the annual fee or the 0% APR on the BCP, all i care is have just one card with the highest CL possible, here what i was thinking:
BCE 3K CL and BCP 6K CL,
Move my BCP 6K (5.5K) to my BCE then my BCE will have 8.5K CL, my next 3xCLI is in Jan 2017 so: 1- i make room for another card and 2- request my next 3xCLI with starting CL of 8.5K so will be over 20K (if approved).
If i combine the BCP into my BCE, will i still be able to do the 3xCLI ?
Let me know if you need more info

You can - 180 days later after combining as it will reset the timer

From the links above, it sounds like it as next renewal after Aug 2016, so within a year for most. Did that change?

I've just heard anecdotes of some Amex cards occasionally remaining at an old AF for a few years (before finally increasing to what others are paying). It seems very much a YMMV thing.
I mentioned three years because I think it's the longest I've heard, and "within maybe 3" is a little more helpful than the ambiguous "a few".

The problem with this plan is that the donor card, the BCP, is not at 13 months.
I would just close the BCE. If you want to app the Delta, leaving the credit lines as is, on all existing revolvers, in my opinion, opens up the possibiltiy for a good limit on the Delta. I know people always want to hang on for dear life to a credit line, but here's my experience:
Started with Delta Gold, mid 2013 at $2k.
Apped Delta Platinum February 2014, $10k starting limit.
Auto CLI Delta Gold to $3k in summer 2014.
Closed Delta Platinum in October 2014, gave up the $10k limit.
3x CLI Delta Gold late 2015, to $9k.
Apped HHonors and got $10k April 2015
mini CLI on the Delta Gold to take it to $12k. ( I have not asked for any other CLI on any AMEX revolvers since this mini request )
SPG August 2015 $10k, starting limit
EDP October 2015 $15k starting limt
PRG October 2015
reallocated $8k from the HHonors to Delta (now Platinum) HHonors now $2k, Delta Platinum now $20k.
$47k of limits with no 4506t.
I really think that by not pushing the limits on every card, that lets you get more cards with AMEX. There is still the 4 revolver limit (so I'm confused that you seem to have 5 revolvers already) but that's why I think just outright closing the BCE is the best choice. Your SP CLI request is coming up soon enough, and that gives you a nice way to increase the BCP limit at that time if you should choose to do so.
As an aside, I would wonder whether even closing the BCE will be enough. It would seem possible that they would still look at the remaining 4 revolvers and not allow the Delta app. Thus it may be necessary to consider closing one of the Hilton cards as well.
@NRB525... Amex several months back(5 approx. ?) don't recall the exact date started allowing for 5 revolvers between personal and/or business total.
