AMEX offers a service to help people with credit reporting agencies and information regarding qualification for new cards. I've been mulling over offers from chase and other credit issues. AMEX has offered me upgrades on my green (charge cards only) and I'm not really interested. I chatted on-line with a very nice lady and she gave me the AMEX number. If anyone is interested, it's 800-874-2717 M-F 9:00-5:30 Eastern Time US. My new TU fako score hits tomorrow and I plan to call the AMEX number for their advice. Has anyone used this service?
I applied for ED card in August 2014 and was denied. I wanted a no-fee AMEX card to replace green. They offered me a $50 credit toward my green AF instead and I kept the card which offers me a 23 year credit history. Now with my apparently improved credit maybe I'll try again but want advice. There was no HP on my AMEX app last year. I had one in June (rejected US bank card) and a new account (chase amazon March 2014). That's all that shows on my 2014 credit report. I don't remember what company AMEX pulled last year.
yes. 30 60 day late line of credit payments in 2013 most recent problem, some other credit card problems before that and a mysterious AZ utility negative that I don't understand. 2014 was clean, all six of my current cards have been on time with no problems. Zero utilization, 10K total CL plus green. Line of credit current since Sep 2013. Income is stable, rent is low. Last reported score was around 675 when I was rejected for AMEX everyday in August. Last TU fako score was 703.
