AMEX Delta to BCP conversion possible?

So... my fiancee has had a Delta Amex card since 2012 and I unfortunately don't know much about Amex... She used it more often before as she traveled for work and we both flew Delta a lot more. Now, she no longer travels for work and it makes more sense for us to fly Southwest  to where we usually go... So we're no longer seeing much of a benefit of paying Delta's AF (plus you don't even get the companion ticket anymore)... She wanted to get the Amex BCP instead since she does 99% of our grocery shopping... she has great credit, but not many credit lines open. She recently opened Chase SP so her AAoA took a hit. She doesn't wanna cancel a card from 2012 and get another new account which will drop AAoA even farther down... so the question is:

1) Can she PC her Delta Amex to BCP?

2) If she can... will the account age remain from 2012 or will in stillb e considered a new account?

thanks!

I was able to PC my Delta to a BCE but that was a few years ago.

There's been reports on this board that it's no longer allowed.

I'm sorry to say that a PC to a BCP will not be an option.

There is a Delta card that is a tier lower than the gold (it's blue in color) but it still has a $55 AF if I'm not mistaken.  If your fiancee is able to PC to that Delta card she would be able to retain her account age and history.

If you're fiancee applies for and is approved for the BCP, it might be possible after a couple of months for her to have most of the credit line moved over to the new card, but the new card will not be backdated.

Here's a recent thread that explains more about the Amex PC process:

I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.  Smiley Sad

Re: AMEX Delta to BCP conversion possible?

oh that stinks hard... maybe we'll downgrade the card to the cheaper AF version and keep paying it till we close on our house (likely just one more AF payment though) and then just take the credit hit once we settled most of our financial future by cancelling Delta and getting BCP after closing... thanks guys!
