AMEX GOLD "Pay over time" 20k MR Points Bonus Question

I always pay my AMEX GOLD in full each month. I just got this offer to get 20,000 MR rewards points just for enrolling in "Pay over time" feature. I keep trying to find the downside of signing up for this even if I still pay my CC in full each month (i.e. I am trying to find the catch) but I am not seeing it Smiley LOL

So in my situation, what's the CON here? Smiley Wink

confirm in the terms you don't need to keep it on for any length of time (I'm pretty sure it's not in there)

but other than the risk that you then start carrying balances at 20-30%, no con at all.

get your points, turn that right back off and wait for the next time you can get free points.

+1

I recently did this for the second time. There is no catch. There is no con. It's a no-brainer. Go for it!

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Question for you : how quickly did the points post for you? I had thought it was instant, but it's 24-hours later and still nothing. I did a CHAT with a Rep, he said he didn't even see that my POT was active, but did indicate it could take 48-72 hours to show/post.

I don't remember exactly, but it did take a few days.
