AMEX Gold Question

So back in the day (early 90s, thinking '92) I got the Amex Gold Card.

I don't recall the specifics of the card (long time ago) but I would bet I didn't get any bonus at that time.

I have since closed it since that time - prob a few years later.

If I were to apply for an AMEX GOLD card now since this would be the 2nd time of having this card, would I be entitled to any of the bonuses they are offering now?

Re: AMEX Gold Question

A "lifetime" is typically seven years for an Amex bonus.

From that one persepective you are likely good for receiving a sign up bonus.

You could still get the pop up for other reasons.

Yes, you should be eligible. I had the Traditional Gold Card before it became the PRG, and was offerred a bonus when approved for the metal.

Re: AMEX Gold Question

I was able to obtain the SUB a couple years ago when I applied for the PRG (just shy of the current Gold Card revamp).  IIRC, my former Gold Card had been closed for ~10 years, if anything.  That said, some folks who pursued similar attempts, were not awarded the SUB based on threads here and DoC.  So, I'd throw YEMV as far as the 7-year rule goes.

The newest gold is not the same product so you'll get it. My last gold was back in 99 and I got the sub.
