I got approved for the Platinum card with a really nice offer, during a really good time for spending, vacation season
But checking back on my online profile I kept getting a message stating my card wasn't enrolled. I didn't think it was a big deal so this morning I logged in to my account and asked to enroll my card, and to make sure my points get pooled together.
I was told by the rep told there was a 90 dollar fee to enroll in the membership rewards program. I asked if maybe they were confused, since this wasn't a corporate card and I know there is a fee to enroll those cards in the program. Very nicely, they told me I was mistaken.
I find it hard to believe they expect you to pay the $550 AF AND a $90 enrollment fee for the MR program. Why the heck would I need to enroll in it, if it's part of my SUB?
I've never hard to enroll before, am I just talking to the wrong rep? Should I just try again?
A quick word of advice... for anything that's not a trivial request, call the number on the back of your card. That will connect you directly to people who only handle Platinum and Centurion accounts, the best of the best that Amex has to offer for customer service.
When you log into your account, you don't see the Membership Rewards section on the right?
Just to confirm, this is the regular consumer Platinum Card and you've received and activated your card? There's no need to enroll in Membership Rewards, it should be automatic. And this link doesn't take you straight to your MR info? https://global.americanexpress.com/rewards?inav=MYCA_Rewards
OP, do you have a Green Corporate Card? If you do have a Green Corp card you will be charged $90 on your personal plat to link the two accounts and your personal plat will be the primary mr card. In addition, you will be credited on your Green Corp card a prorated part of the $90 fee.
I have a corporate gold card but rarely use it. I called again, and they were able to straighten it out!
It was a system issue and I just had to let things get processed!
I never heard of that before, I thought it was free. I know the Zync card as a enrollment fee for features. I like Quaker Steel Cut oatmeal lol.
