I'd be cautious with the $500 limit. It may take time to grow it. Having said that, I'd go ahead and use it frequently, right up close to the $500 limit. You'll want to pay it down just prior to statement to keep your utilization in line, and PIF by the payment due date.My Delta Gold from 2013 was a $2k limit, and I hadn't joined here to know any better, but after just over a year I ramped up the spending close to the $2k, and they bumped the limit to $3k. If you get an auto-CLI, that will be a good indication your star is rising.
I'm not clear why one would want both, so maybe keep an eye out near month 12, for an upgrade offer to the BCP with a decent bonus.
Spending close to the limit and paying off is good advice, thank you. I will definitely utilize it and PIF in hopes of increasing the limit.
No need to get close to the limit. Just use the card in a healthy way, pay it down fast, and then apply for soft pull CLI at the appropriate intervals.

That's the relationship in a nutshell. You are already in so don't F it up. Also, CredOne is not an Amex card. It only uses the Amex network. Amex probably doesn't even know you have it.
Great advice, thank you!
Good intent, but inaccurate
With $500.00 approval, you may see increase at some point in future but no time soon. Just about all $500 approvals with negatives present didn't see increase in years, even after file was clean.
You're free to try but 91 days or 180 days aren't happening.
I seldom speak in absolutes because I don't like being wrong, but this is something I'm kinda certain about.
I don't know how recent your negatives are, Amex prefers clean files, they will approve dirty files but leash is very short. So, give it plenty of time unless you want another agony toy limit approval.
Also, you really need to garden'n'chill.
I get the excitement of getting approvals after not being able to, but there is a point where one starts shooting themselves in both feet. You're past that.

Blunt and great advice, I definitely appreciate the honesty! I will do my best to build up the relationships with AMEX and my other recent approvals.

So it's only $500 SLs due to dirty (as in not clean) files that can respond here to be considered accurate? Because my DP and advice is based off of my $1000 SL dirty file. I figured it was close enough to the OP to be relatable. I got the 3x CLI to 3k on day 94. I did not have to PIF. I am milking the 0% APR promo as best as I can. I continue to mash the saved CLI link fairly regularly even though I know my next CLI is not until 181 days or so. There is no tree to be saved as they just tell you its too early. There is no relationship because they tell me the same thing each time until it changes (like at day 94). It's just an algo.
The general tone of all mods and boards here is to exercise caution. Of course, that is prudent and something I try to do as well. But my example and the OP request about relationships is more helpful to them on a real world basis. Think about the fact that OP was willing to wait with a $500 crap CL for 2-3 years to "build" a relationship with Amex when most here knew that OP could have possibly a $1500 CL in as soon as 61 days (yes I said 91 as it was closer to my 94). Let's say OP got it - on a dirty file like mine near 91- and then got to $4500 at 181 in 9 months total. That can be lifechanging as far as Finances Vs. Fico'ing on a toy limit.
I guess I've missed this, but a $500 limit with Amex? Is that new? Maybe because Credit One is an Amex buddy now, "when you sleep with dogs you get fleas" kind of thing?

You missed it...it's only been 7 years or so

Way to be condescending. Your "contribution" to this thread is what?
I appreciate the other members who gave me advice, understood my situation, and didn't try to ruin my excitement.

@KanesInferno I think the Credit One Amex is great. I always hear wonderful things about Credit One Bank. And I've been a loyal American Express member since 1997. I would be proud to have the Credit One Amex. In fact I'm going to be getting it when I'm ready to add another card. I already have a pre approval waiting for me on Experian, and I can't wait to get it.

Your experience is not the norm. The datapoints that back what @Remedios stated are very well established. I am among them with a 1000 limit 4 year old card.

I really don't know what to make out of your post.
No one is telling member that they cannot ask for increase. Given the limit they have, increase seems necessary. Of course they will (and should) ask.
What I did tell them is what often happens with low approvals like that so they can set their expectations accordingly and not be too heart broken or feel singled out.
Rebuild is hard and stressful, I'd rather give someone advice to prepare them for possible reality instead of leading them to the land of ponies and unicorns, followed by
"No big deal, try again tomorrow"
Futility is not a form of exercise, though it seems to be practiced and preached more than anything to do with realistic expectations and common sense.
I'm glad your experience is different, I'm also pretty sure your profile is different than OPs.
Also, I specifically spoke about $500.00 approvals, therefore I addressed their situation. You dont have $500.00 approval, so let's not compare oranges and tangerines, close enough but no cigar.
As far as "cautious moderators" go, I cannot speak for the others but I can speak for myself... I used to smash buttons with the best of them, then I grew up.
