AMEX Online Payment Surprisingly Fast.

I am almost on my 60th day since my AMEX Hilton was approved. Tonight, as preparation for my CLI request, i did pay my balance online 3 days ahead of the due date.  To my surprise, the available credit immediately went back to my full credit line right away as soon as I click payment. Is this always the case?

And, when should I asked for CLI? On 60 days after I get the approval status page saying am approved? Thanks guys!

Mine did too!  Made a payment Saturday morning and it immediately went back to my full credit line.  My account is brand new so it was not due yet, but I use it like my debit card so I paid what I had used.

Always a good idea to have the smallest balance possible when asking for a CLI.

Yes, your available credit will reflect automatically, but just be careful because that doesn't mean it will show on your statement.  It usually takes a day or two for it to refelect on your statement as fully processed.

You should ask on the 61st day from your activation, not your approval. Remember, you can ask for up to 3x your current CL up to $25,000 on the automated phone system. (Just call the number on the back of your card, It is usually option 5.)  It SHOULD be a soft pull.

Good luck!

I have found this to be typical, but even if it doesn't show on the website immediately, it shows internally immediately. Smiley Tongue

Good luck with the CLI!!

Yes, it always shows  immediately for me.  I wait a couple, to a few, days after the 60-day mark just to be sure.  Ask 3x your CL!  If they think that's too high, they will counter!  Good luck and let us know what happens!

Same here ~ it is great that they free up your available credit immediately, I wouldn't be able to use my card if they didn't since I have a $200 Hard Limit ZYNC.  Smiley Happy

Re: AMEX Online Payment Surprisingly Fast.

Amex doesn't mess around when it comes to getting their money.

I love it though. I hate paying BoA, or USAA. Takes about 5 days before I can be sure the payment was submitted, and my bank account has taken a hit.
