AMEX PC Blue to BCE

I have had the regual Amex Blue (not even Blue cash) for 6 months now and just noticed the rewards are terrible! 1pt per dollor spent and with MR, 100 points is roughly a dollor (much closer to 50 cents).

I would like the BCE but was told I need to have my first card for 13 months before I can PC. Can I app for the BCE now with a SP and cancel the Blue? If so will they match my CL on the BCE with the Blue before I cancel it? I also heard somthing about apping in the same card family is not possible. Correct me if im wrong.

<Edit>

Apperently you can "upgrade" your amex every 6 months so they were able to upgrade my card from Blue to BCE in about 10 secs via web chat (you even keep you remanding MR) and my card will arrive with details in 7-10! Problem solvedSmiley Happy

Thats nice. congrats!!

My DW has the same Blue for about 8 mnths now, they wont change it to BCE. Everytime they say we have to wait for about an year to product change.

No you don't.  The only way you get the sign up bonus is by applying for the card.

I was told the same thing! The rep said you need to ask if there is an available "card upgrade" to BCE on your account and not for a PC (even though its technically a PC). In my case the upgrade was avalibe since the card was over 6 months old. I think my recent 3x cli helped also but I cant be sure.
