So it has come to my attention that people are reporting they are not being let in lounges with the AMEX Platinum. AMEX website states:
After you enroll, your membership in Priority Pass Select will provide you entry to over 600 international and domestic lounges in 100 countries, regardless of which carrier or class you are flying.
So this is supposed to be good for all the lounges listed here then?
Since San Francisco has 3 lounges, only 1 in international and it is by United. Anyone who has used that feature on the Platinum can shed more info?

The Amex Platinum Card does not directly allow access into the lounges that particiate via "Priority Pass", once you enroll your Platinum Card, Amex with send out within 2-4 weeks a Priority Pass Select card, which is to be used for lounge access!

Aha, and that is the Priority Pass branded card which shouldn't have you get denied access? And how does the $27 guest work? Same card or the Platinum has to be shown?

The Priority Pass Select Card should grant you and your quest access if that particular lounge participates, your best bet would to download the Priority Pass app onto your phone to check which airport lounges allow Priority Pass access. And as far as the $27 fee for additional quest, it would be charged to the CC or Charge Card linked to your Priority Pass membership!
You know this has actually always baffeled me. I too have the Platinum card and I signed up for the Priority Pass and have that card as well since it's free. So if the Priority Pass is Free when you have a Platinum card why is it that you suppose the Platinum card alone isn't enough to simply alow you to go in? Seems odd to me. To answer your question though yes you need to present both at the door and the 27 dollars or whatever it is now will be charged to your Plainum card!
to answer the question united and continental pulled out of the priroty pass deal. if you want to get into the united lounges you have to have a chase continental presidintal credit card they are offering no annual fee for the 1st year with those

Do you have a source on this? Because SFO only has United in the intl. so it makes no sense to get the card if the Priority Pass Select won't get access.
P.S. I want to know because if this feature is not available, a Cap1 Venture is starting to make much more sense...
