AMEX SP for new accounts current member

If your a current cardholder can you still app with a freeze on your CR's?

Good question. I would think so just because it's a SP unless you're approved. Then supposedly they re-code it to a HP (from what I've read here). So, one would think it would work. Maybe others have experience w/this.

Interesting question (LS did you freeze or going to?).  Bichonmom is right on about how AMEX pulls for members from all I've ever heard.  I also think once someone has a business relationship (an account with a lender) they can HP anyway.  Oddly enough, when I just applied for Blue, the CSR told me if I change it to something else later, they wouldn't even pull a report. I wonder if that goes for getting a new card of the same type too, and like Bichonmom said, they just code it as a HP later after they approve it?

I think somewhere along the way your application would be put on hold or cancelled if they are unable to HP your report.
