AMEX Weirdness

One of my friends who was born in 1965, just got an AMEX gold card and on it it says member since 1963. He called to activate, they confirmed his card, and his social and all the other good stuff, and he made sure it was his account, they said yes.

Now why can't this type of luck happen to me. Imagine 45 years of credit history in one mistake. His FICO should go way up. (Considering his oldest card is actually from 2003.)

Re: AMEX Weirdness

Is that "1963" actually reflected on his CR?

Re: AMEX Weirdness

I don't know if it is on his report that way, he just got the card.

Yes, this is his card and his alone, he is not an AU nor is it someone elses account.

The card works too because he took a bunch of us out for pizza and beer and it wasn't declined.

I think it is hilarious that his card says member since 1963 and he wasn't born until 1965. Apparently he applied for this and was approved when he was negative two years old. Not even a gleam in his daddy's eye.
