AMEX charge card sign and travel feature

I signed up for this, even though I probably won't use it.l  I have a Senior Gold card and other cards that I use for travel.  Any travel-related charge can be paid over time but with an APR currently at 18.5%.  The nice thing is that there is a $35K limit and does offer flexibility.  Has anyone used this feature?

They push this service several times a year but I highly doubt they see many takers 

Why would anyone finance a vacation or large purchase at 18.5% 

When it would be more financial prudent and just plain smart to app for a long term 0% card ...

Say 0% for 12-18 months

I supposed there are those that get sucked in tho....Lol
