APR reduction success (sorta)

Cap One lowered my Venture APR to 17.99 for 6 months then back to 22.99. No big deal I don't carry a balanced on it

Amex lowered Delta from 19.24 to 17.24 and Hilton to 17.74. I was *almost* a jerk and said "so you can't give me a measly .5%???" But it's better than nothing lol.

Capital One's temporary reductions (I recently got one too) honestly strike me as almost more lame than not giving anything. If you're going to give someone a "promo", at least make the APR significantly lower, like 10% or 5% or even 0%. Giving a temporary reduction of a few percent is basically meaningless.

Right? I just asked for one just to say I did. I made the mistake of carrying a balance over ONCE and they bit me so hard

Congrats! Something is better than nothing

I just tried to get my 24.9% quicksilver reduced, and nada zip zilch nothing.

yet my 3 month old delta gold got a 3% reduction easily. It all varies.

Keep trying with the amex. I was just elated to see folks on here with 6-9% APR on an amex.
