Accidentally earned 9% CB

Maybe this is already a known thing but I've never read anything about it. I accidentally earned 9% cash back on two cards for one purchase.

I was making a purchase online and went through NFCU member deals. They were offering 4% from this website. When I got to checkout, I decided to use my PayPal account that was attached to Chase since it was 5% cash back.

I received an email from NFCU last night that I earned the 4% cash back. It was an extra $30+ I wasn't expecting so I'm very happy about that!

Stacking is indeed great.  Earned over 100,000 Membership Rewards from Rakuten in 9 months last year on top of my regular credit card rewards.  Good to know that NFCU will pay out from their portal regardless of how you ultimately pay.

NFCU Member Deals is a shopping portal, so it can't be combined with other portals.  Whatever the last portal you go through, that's the one that stores the cookie and pays you out.

You CAN triple dip with BankAmerideals, Amex Offers, Chase Offers, etc.  that are linked to your credit card.

Chase had a promo Oct-Dec 2019 that Paypal use and linked to that card would earn 5%.  That's why you got it.

The Paypal UI even had a little "preferred" icon for that period in the UI where you chose the funding source to use when making a purchase.
