I need to look up when I got my CareCredit card as well. I haven't used it once since having it and it's sitting at a nice $2,000 limit which helps my utilization at the moment. Has anyone found a cheap way to use this card? Dentist checkup? Massage somewhere? I don't have any pets. It's good to know that Synchrony will go 12 months with no use and then they'll close a card down. I used to be obsessive about using my cards once a month but now I've toned it down to ever 2-3 months. I want to go 6 months but not sure if I should take the risk of CLD because of use.

Used it for 15$ dollars a month or so ago to get my dogs nails trimmed. Pretty cheap I would of had to pay with either a 1.5% card or care credit and for 15$ 1.5% back is nothing lol.

Does this apply to the Care Credit Card also? Being that they bill it as a card for use when needed,,, why would they penalize you for holding on to till you needed again...just saying....
I am considering calling them and asking. It may be a couple of more months before I use the card. If I do I and find out anything, I will post here.
My Mom received a letter stating that her Care Credit account was closed due to non-activity (almost 2 years). The letter also stated that if she would like to reopen her account, she can call. I'm not sure if they meant reapply, but the letter stated "reopen".

Thanks for the information.

Seeking unnecessary medical expenses every 2-3 months just to keep a card open doesn't strike me as a good idea. At that point, it's probably best to just risk letting the card go inactive, and direct the money you din't spend on paying down your utilization.
I admit I bought two pairs of socks I didn't need urgently for $12 (after a coupon) to put a little activity on Brooks Bros after 7 months of non-use, but that's not quite in the same league.
