Hey All!
Finally got the Discover More card in the mail and activated it. This is my first "prime" card and I'm SOOOO excited. I love all the features and benefits it comes with for free!! Finally someone is trying to sell me on using their money for FREE (no AF) and not me paying for using someone else's (Crap 1). Hopefully after this and my new Chase Freedom (hasn't come in the mail yet) age for a year a two I can apply for another card and dump Crap 1! Lastly, can I expect a score increase when the discover and chase cards get added to my credit report?

I love my Discover More card....I PIF, use the bonus points to get gift cards for the 'fam' at Christmas and I love the ShopDiscover feature, too. I get extra bonus points shopping on line at places I usually shop anyway. And if you ever buy flowers, then going through FTD on ShopDiscover gives 20% bonus points!
As far as affect on your score, if your Cap 1 has been reporting a balance, then 2 new TLs could reduce utilization and thus potentially improve your score.
On the other hand, 2 new accounts w/two new inqs may offset gained utilization points. This is really a YMMV situation depending upon what else you have going on with your report.
Either way, looks like you're headed for 760 land before you know it!

Any drop in your score from the new accounts/inquiries will be a temporary one. Six months in, you'll get it back, and then some.
