Activation timing

Was approved for a Barclays card and Boa card. Did Boa recon and the rep told me to check back with them once I get card in hand and they will probably give me a CLI. Is Boa generous with CLI's? If you don't mind me asking do I activate the card first before asking for a CLI? Also is Barclay's generous with CLI's; and when both companies do CLI's if they do any pulls do they do a soft or hard pull?

Activation isn't relevant.  Creditors don't just give away CLI's -- it's all about one's credit.

I can't speak for barclays but when i was approved for my boa NCL card with a tiny $500 cl  I called and asked for 2k.  They did another HP which i was not thrilled with, but was approved for 3k so was worth it in the end.  BoA will give you decent limits if your score is in good enough shape.  from what i have read about BoA, all cli requests are HP.

Has a fico middle score of 692. I'm guessing that's good enough?
