So I booked a flight on United with LifeMiles points, and then used my some 2019 and 2020 calendar year credit card airline incidental credits to pay for extended leg room in the exit row and checked bags.
Unitied has offered to refund all points on canceled flights. Q1: I assume that LifeMiles will be awarded back to me, not United miles, right?
Q2: Should I give up hope on getting refunds for my 2019 airline incidental charges since I could not use them even if the incidental credits were refunded to me?
Q3: Any tricks or traps for the unwary to getting a refund on my 2020 airline incidental charges?
Many thanks.
Yeah for Q1 it'll be LifeMiles but I imagine you'll need to contact Avianca to get those back. I don't think that will just happen automatically. Q2 you can contact an AmEx CSR but if I had to guess there's nothing that can be done about that. Q3 have you used up all of the incidental credit? If so I'd lump this in with the line of questions directed at a CSR to see if there's anything that can be done(I'd imagine you'll have more luck here than with the 2019 credits).
