Believe me they monitor all social media forums and networks. They dont do it for customer help, they only do it to avoid company info filtering out and being used by competitors or anything that may affect them financially. I had a thread here helping people out a few months ago and they sent a cease and desist letter to this forums and then threathend me to lose my job if i continued on.

To keep under the topic they havent mentioned anything of reviewing accounts to CSR's so its not going to be common. This happens when you pass 100k in credit lines with them.

Actually, from what I'm aware, Capital One, Chase, Citi and AMEX are fairly aware of these forums and other social media/blogs as well.

So, based on the anecdotal information from one of the affected posters, what could the reasoning for the other individual who doesn't have nearly the same aggregate CLs across all GECRB accounts?  Maybe it's trivial altogether but I was under the impression that the closer to the $100K exposure ceiling the more scrutiny would be placed on that individual from a risk perspective.

Re: All GE Lovers , Check this out.

I had to edit my post since i forgot some info:

"To keep under the topic they havent mentioned anything of reviewing accounts to CSR's so its not going to be common. This happens when you pass 100k in credit lines with them, credit scores drop drastically, or the anti fraud systems noticed some kind of unusual activity with your accounts."

Re: All GE Lovers , Check this out.

As far as activity, well nothing out of ordinary every 3 or 4 mnonths bought gas  or some clothes shopping and pay in full BEFORE statement issue date.

the only thing i think of is, early this month i was approved for walmart discover BUT only for 600 limit. after having good credit limits with GE 600 seemed insult, and called UW and asked for 10K and was approved. (( remember these lines?, shoot for the stars--- dont be afraid to ask UW what you like ----and sky is the limit )) * from other GE UW CLI threads* perhaps sudden jump from 600 to 10k on brand new card???

Also, whats up with this 90 days review? either close the accounts OR CLD them OR leave em alone, what is that they will do in 90 days , Ultimately GE has made up its mind to close my accounts, * my sixth sense*,  then why wait 3 months?

Another thing i think of  is, maybe they want to keep me under radar for 90 days , like with my other non GE accounts and overall credit picture, and i belive they will hard pull me again on equifax close to 90 days and decide then.

At this point, it's all speculative.  Only GECRB knows why your accounts were frozen and depending on what disclosures they provide surrounding such AA, then that's about the only thing you can go by.  Sometimes, the issue for some folks is taking a low limit as personal or as an "insult" when not getting what one "wants" from the get-go ... almost a "how dare they?" or an entitlement attitude.   Not sure if the high CL spread contributed to them getting spooked but who knows.  Unsecured lending is something THEY control, not you.  Appropriate levels for credit line assignment are usually determined by each lender based on a variety of factors.   GECRB just happens to be more flexible, but on the other side of the coin, their APRs are not very favorable - if you're a PIF individual then this is no issue.

What is known is they are conducting a 90-day review.  From a portfolio or risk review perspective, they are perfectly within their lending and legal right to conduct whatever deems favorable to: (a) eventually release the hold, (b) CLD the current lines to minimize exposure or (c) close the lines.  For now, 90 days is the only option that seems to be on the table.

Also, they can't do a HP unless you authorize them to do so.

This is not accurate.  Any lender can do so and it is in their TC for any permissible purpose to review your account.

Parakleet, you have a valid point.

They DID hard pull Equifax on 8/20/2013 with address of Dayton, OH. for me and DW. same day.

I did not authorize it.
