Alliant Credit Union CLI

Hi All!

Just wondering if anyone has had experience requesting for a CLI w/ Alliant?

I was approved for their Platinum Visa last year and coming up on the 6 month mark. 

Never really used the card except to pay for a bill in November and PIF before statement cut.

Any info shared would be greatly appreciated!

I got the Platinum Visa in 2010 with a $500 limit.  At the 6 month mark, I asked for a CLI to $5K and they countered offering me $15K and the best interest rate.  I also asked them to convert to Platinum Rewards Visa which they did.  If you use the card relatively frequently and your credit profile is decent, you should be able to get a CLI without much of an issue.

Always a hard pull for CLI.  For me, the $14,500 CLI and conversion to rewards was well worth it!

Hey all, I'm just wondering.... Can anyone join Alliant?  I noticed them mentioned as being BK friendly in other threads.  When I went to look them up, there were several Alliant Credit Unions.. and I wasn't sure which one everyone is speaking of.  Any guidance in this area is appreciated!  Thanks! :-)

Alliant Credit Union in Chicago, open to everyone.

I believe they do a hard pull on EQ for membership, along with a Chexsystems check.

I believe a CC is another hard EQ pull.

Also if you want to open an checking account i believe that is another hard pull. When i opened my account last year for just savings, i don't think it was an hard pull if i recall. Correct me if i am wrong on that i am not 100 % sure
