No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
It has been about 1.5 years since my last CLI request with Alliant (Hard Pull, 7.5k -> 10k). Just recieved a blance transfer offer of 0% for 18 months. Asked for a CLI through the Alliant wensite to avoid maxing out the card to take advantage of the offer without maxing out the card and noticed the following language:
Applicant Consent to Pull Credit in Conjunction with Your Loan Request:
If you accept, please know that this soft credit inquiry will likely not impact your credit
I took the plunge filling out my income and monthly mortgage payment and recieved a message asking to unlock Transunion. I did, clicked the continue button and recieved a 2-3 day message. Will update with results.
Keep us posted!
**Update**
I recieved a decision about the CLI and it was a denial: "Income insufficient for amount of credit requested".
My DTI is around 38%. I owe ~50k on credit cards (all on promo rates between 0% and 5%) which is probally what spooked them. The score listed in the adverse action letter was 794 (TU).
No hard pull on Transunion or any other CRA.
I read the subject as "Alliant Credit Union soft porn language for Visa CLI" which presumably says something about me, but certainly creates some interesting images...
I can confirm this is a soft pull now, but you need to not have TU frozen.
