The AmEx Plat card can add gold card at no cost. What are the benefits of those gold cards? Are they like PRG, or just the regular card that earn points and do not come with any benefits?
I don’t have the card, but according to a TPG blog post, “up to 99 ‘Gold card’ authorized users for no additional fee. These Gold cards are essentially just spending cards; they don’t provide any of the standard Amex Platinum benefits — such as lounge access, additional airline fee credit, additional Global/TSA PreCheck credit, etc. However, these cards will be eligible for the 5x bonus categories.” Source

I already get this. One other post says the Gold card holders get the TSA. So I do not know who is correct. We already have CSR and Ritz Carlton cards. So not sure if the extra is worth the $175. It seems to me the only thing extra is the AmEx lounge access. Ritz card already gives Priority access. The TSA is only once in 4 years. Others are close to worthless for the college kids.
What other post says they get the TSA? TPG has more than one post saying only the $175 authorized user cards are the ones that get the additional perks. I would just ask AMEX to be sure if you’re not sure at this point and if no one else on the board can confirm.
