AmEx vs. Discover...Who takes the cake!

Everyone out there loves AmEx cards and Discover cards. Both have great customer service and great rewards but both faces the fact that they're not accepted at some places.

Not being a Discover customer, I don't really pay attention to them that much, but I had a chance to look at their website today and they actually look to be really good. So for all of those people with one or the other, or even BOTH! Who, in your opinion, is better in customer service, rewards, acceptance, etc.?

I love my Discover Card --  hands down.  Because my Disc is sitting at 1.1k I'm doomed to pay it 3-4 times a month!  I paid it twice just during the week I was on vacation!  I should get a CLI at 6 months (Aug 25), so here's hoping.  I have 60+ bucks in cash back on that thing and I'm loving it.

As far as customer service I really, really like Discover the best.  I rarely deal with Amex, we just kind of act like we're tolerating each other at this point.

I have Amex Plat and Blue cards. I also have a Discover Motiva.

Amex is #1 as far as I'm concerned.

Give me AMEX, hands down!  They gave me a creat opening credit line of 8.5k, low apr and 0% BT apr for one year.  What's not to like?

I HATE AMEX - WILL NEVER USE IT AGAIN.  After having this friggin card for 30 years they refuse a $169 charge? If it wasn't such an old account, I"d drop it in a second.  If I was just starting out with credit, AMEX is the LAST card I'd apply for.

NFCU  is the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, cobra!  That is amazing.  I wonder why there's such a disparity in people's feelings about AMEX.  What you described is hard to understand.  Like I said before, they've been great by me, so far! They keep sending me e-mails telling me I'm approved for the Jet Blue card (already have Blue) but it's not the card I want (or need) and I carry a balance most times.  Ya never know with them, do you?
