Amazon Chase Visa

When ordering on Amazon today I got offer for a 50.00 gift card if I apply for their Chase Visa.  I finally caved (the free money wore me down).  I was instantly approved for 4000, I'm not sure what a good starting limit is with them.  Can anyone tell me how they are with increases? Will I be stuck at 4000 forever, do they do hp or sp?

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

Generally speaking your starting limit with Chase is often your final limit unless you ask. If you request an increase its a hard pull. They occasionally do auto increases with a soft pull.

Honestly 4K on the Amazon isn't even bad. I've seen a lot of 500 starting limits on that one.

Oh wow, thanks for the info.  Is Chase always that way? I've never applied with them because if the 5/24 rule.

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

I posted about a weird thing with this card recently. I was approved for 5K, but when the card came it was 6K. Your scores are a lot higher than mine too so be on the lookout!

Oops, I just noticed you answered that, lol

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

My limit started at $900 in 2009 lol.

7 years later it is at $3K.

Congrats on the approval though! It's a Visa Signature!

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

When I got mine the email said 5K SL but then when I got the card it was actually 8.5K

For my DW with her Freedom card we charged it up to like 90% util and then PIF and they doubled her limit. Of course YMMV

Scores 01/04/2017: EQ 719, TU 750, EX 716
Goal scores: 740 across the board

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

I started at $4k and a few months later Chase bumped it up to $5k VS. No heavy use just regular purchases and PIF. Good luck!

Re: Amazon Chase Visa

I just got mine at $4k.  Score is 740 Experian but rated at 652 on the Chase APR info sheet.   Regardless congrats on your approval.   I buy a lot at Amazon.  I don't know how many swipes it's going to get.  I have an Amex BCE that I like to use and I am not fond having the huge Amazon.com logo on the card when I whip it out to pay for meals.

Depends on where you get your score from. Did you get it from Credit Karma?

Credit Karma isn't accurate at all.

Also, if you buy a lot on Amazon, the store card is better for you, since it gives you 5% back in a statement credit on all purchases, or you can get 6, 12, or 24 months 0% financing on all purchases above $149.

The Amazon.com credit card actually looks really nice, especially in black, and the Visa Signature logo on the bottom is a shiny metallic look like the rest of the letters and numbers on the card. I wasn't ashamed to use it at all, and I'm picky on card designs. Smiley Happy
