Hello! I hope this isn't old and that I'm not just an idiot for not knowing this.
Has the Amazon store card always had 5% off of the purchases??
I was shocked to see this today on my Amazon account ... It was just very weird to see the 5% cb with Amazon Storecard.
2. 5% Back Offer: 5% Back offer and Special Financing offers cannot be combined on each purchase. If your purchase is $149 or more, and is not a 1-click or phone purchase, you will have the option to select the offer you would like to apply to your purchase. 1-click and phone purchases of $149 or more will automatically receive special financing. For all purchases less than $149, 5% Back will be automatically applied. Offers subject to credit approval. 5% Back on purchases made with your Amazon.com Store Card is not applied at time of purchase, it will be paid as a statement credit to your account. Please allow up to two billing cycles for your credit to post to your account. Account must remain open, be in good standing and not become delinquent at the time the credit is posted to your account. Items sold on Amazon.com by third-party sellers qualify for these offers. My question is: Is this normal? I viewed the same link in an incognito window and the terms are different.
I've never seen this before, and my account sure doesn't have 5% cash back!
i believe its true...the catch is that it has to be an amazon card, not something from a vendor like a good sum of their products
I just went to my amazon account (not credit) and clicked to look at store card and then to apply... Neither screen showed me any 5% offers
Hmmm.... no where on mine either
I don't see that either. I only see the offer for the $20 gift card
Apparently I don't have the exalted privileges to post images but for me it shows 5%.
Maybe they're trying to compete with Sallie Mae. I just went to www.amazon.com/storecard and it's right there:

Edit: I'm logged into my account while checking, it doesn't show when logged out. Also, perhaps incidental - I'm a Prime member.
Jeez, i wonder if they will be able to add that to existing accounts?
i don't have a 5% rewards on that link either ($10 cash back). 0% APR for 12 months on $599 or more is nice. i have Chase Amazon that gives 3% back.

As a logged in Prime member, I see it with 3% rather than 5%, so it's obviously targetted based on some unknown factor. What is your Amazon spend like per year?
